I lead Internal Audit & IT at the Sierra Leone Public Transport Authority (SLPTA) in Freetown, where I am the authority's sole IT specialist. I hold a first-class honours BSc in Information Technology from the University of Sierra Leone (IPAM) and an MBA in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Management with distinction, and I am now pursuing a Doctorate in Computer Science. About Me

I'm Solomon Wilson, I am a Data Engineer | AI/ML Engineer | Internal Audit & IT Lead | Automation Builder

I am Head of Department for Internal Audit & Information Technology, and Deputy Head of Transport Planning & Operations, at the Sierra Leone Public Transport Authority (SLPTA), a public regulator set up by Act of Parliament in 2023. As its only IT specialist I cover everything from networks and systems to data engineering, analytics and machine learning.

My work splits three ways: internal audit documentation and reports aligned to the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards (2024); data pipelines and analytics for bus operations (mileage, fuel, ridership, accidents and finance for the Waka Fine bus service); and workflow automation that saves a small team hours every week.

I work across Python, TypeScript, SQL/Postgres, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Microsoft 365, and I build AI agents with human approval built in. I also teach "Introduction to AI" short courses with IPAM / University of Sierra Leone. Through my practice, ITSoloWils, I take on freelance data, automation and AI projects for clients anywhere.
